Posted on February 24, 2011

We blogged about the first half of New York Fashion Week in Part 1; below are the rest of our thoughts on our favorite looks.  We continued to see lots of layering, long sheer maxi skirts and dresses, and decadent fabrics for Fall/Winter 2011!

1. Badgley Mischka – very lady-like designs as usual and notice that winter white is making a comeback.  the cascading waterfall ruffle gown is beautiful, the use of sheer fabrics and fur is very elegant, and we LOVE the sheer studded pants with the gray fur trenchcoat!

2. Betsey Johnson – she’s known for being crazy and not following all the “rules,” but she did, however, follow the fall/winter 2011 “rules” in the making, such as, the long flowy sheer maxi skirts and high-waisted pants.  we love the ruffled Victorian “Austin Powers” patch and the leather biker shorts!

3. Bibhu Mohapatra –
check out his edgy furs and we love those mile high platform shoes!

4. Calvin Klein – we’re loving the neutral palette of creams, grays, and camel.  notice the high rise tapered pant; it has a very clean look to it.

5. Carlos Miele – ahhh, we love love Carlos Miele’s collection!!  you’ll see sheers and maxi’s like everyone else but he did great with the velvet genie pants and the luscious fur bolero’s are to die for!!

6. Chado Ralph Rucci – we see a little Cruella De Vil in this collection, rich furs and the use of red, black, and white.

7. Dennis Basso – there are soo many pieces we love in this collection!  our absolute favorite looks are the maxi dress, blazer, fur neck wrap, and oversized gloves ensemble, tiered ruffled mini dress, tan maxi skirt ensemble, and the flowing brown satin maxi dress and brown fur!

8. Diesel Black Gold – a more young and hip brand showing lots of layering.  we love the color choices and check out the return of bell bottoms!  you’ll see a lot of the 1970’s this spring as well.

9. Donna Karan – so sophisticated and lady-like!!  again, we’re absolutely loving the neutral palette and vintage inspiration.  there’s something so high fashion about monotone looks and the fur arm cuffs are amazing!

10. Helen Yarmak – thick long furs to gawk over!

11. Herchcovitch; Alexandre – oversized and dramatic looks!  we love the lace blouse and how it hangs over the pant and the last outfit is oversize galore; we love pairing a huge sweater with a maxi and those fringe shoes!!

12. J. Mendel – gorgeous pieces and we especially love the mixing of brown and black.

13. Jenny Packham – such beautiful dazzled chiffon pieces!  we love every piece below and can’t wait to see which celebrities strut their stuff in one of them for an awards show.  her clientele includes Keira Knightley, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Biel, and Cameron Diaz!

14. Marchesa – nothing to say but WOW!  we love all the pale sparkle, sheer net, and tulle.  it’s drama without being dramatic, we can stare at this dresses all day!

15. Michael Kors –
monotone looks again and we’re loving it!  you’ll see the 1970’s disco influence in the two jumpsuits and of course we adore the pale ensemble!

16. Milly by Michelle Smith – vintage 70’s looks with the high waisted pleated skirt and ruffle maxi dress.  we love the idea of pairing capri’s with high boots and showing tights underneath.

17. Monique Lhuillier – always very girly and pretty, you’ll see lots of sheers and lace in this collection.  notice the ballerina tie-up laces on the shoes! we love the sheer beige top with the high waisted black pants!

18. Naeem Khan – there so soo many gowns that we love and all are so sleek!  our top 3 favorites are in the second pic – the draped green sequin goddess dress, long sequin feathered dress, short sequin feathered dress! wow!

19. Nanette Lepore –
you’ll see winter whites here again; there’s something about winter white that makes you look so so elegant.

20. Pamela Roland – beautiful gowns!!  our absolute favorite is the studded sequin ombre fringe gown, just stunning!

21. Son Jung Wan – notice the flared pants here which are as lengthening as floor length maxi’s.  we love the neutral palette, fur accents, and monotone ensembles.  the bloomers are super cute too!

22. Tracy Reese – love LOVE the sheer pleated maxi’s and oversized sweaters!  and notice the vintage inspired short pencil skirt with a ruffled mermaid hem.
